Poona born, Brooklyn based, Kanchan Koya founded Spice Spice Baby to inspire families to use spices and still feed their children delicious food. Discover how this molecular biologist hit a road block in a white male dominated industry and made a complete pivot, while out on a run, only to hit her stride.
Kanchan’s journey took her from school in Poona, India to an undergraduate degree in Molecular biology at the University of Texas in Austin and finally a PhD in Biotech at Harvard. Her cook book, Spice Spice Baby led her to Buzz Feed and a spot on The Today show.
Kanchan wants to revive the art of using spices for their scientific benefit and still produce flavorful food. Her website has delicious recipes, nutrition tips and information about spices to inspire healthy living.
